Comments: Our team won the State and New England Championships before losing 3-1 to eventual World Champion Levittown, Pennsylvania, in the Eastern Regional Finals. I pitched the whole game. I was interviewed by Bob Feller.

Comments: This is one of a series of paintings which was displayed in the Drummer Boy Museum, no longer in existence. I worked during the summers all through college at this museum. This painting is from the 1960s.

Nickerson Boat House

Comments: Visiting the "Wooden Lady" at the Nickerson's Boat House. Dry sandbar nearby. We played here and never saw any Nickersons or other boat owners in the decade of the 1920s. From my scrapbook.

Carting Home Fish From The Traps

Comments: Low tide on the flats, so the horse and wagon could make the trip there to net the fish. The fish were caught at Ellis Landing and then went by train to Boston. Photo was taken sometime during the summer in the 1920s.

Mary Mello and Her Adoptive Prents

Comments: Mary Mello emigrated with her brother from Faial in the Azores. Mary settled in Marstons Mills, sponsored by Manuel Frates and his wife, who lived on River Road. Mary eventually married Cape Cod native Winifred Lovell. They had one daughter, Kathleen Lovell, who is my husband, Stephen Farrar's, mother.
